Selling across borders takes more than a translated website: every language and every market searches in its own words, and that is where international SEO starts. VARAMEDIA builds multilingual websites in six languages, with dedicated pages for each language and the right signals for Google.
It's the first question for any international site: do you choose a separate domain for each country (.co.uk, .de, .fr), a subdomain for each country, or one domain with a folder for each language (/fr, /de, /es)? Google says all three options can work. So the choice isn't about what is allowed, but about what works best for you.
If your offer is the same in every country, one domain with language folders is the simplest choice. Country domains pay off mainly when you genuinely have a different offer, different prices or your own branch in each country.
Google determines the language of a page from the visible text, not from the language code in the URL. So a page has to be entirely in the right language. And in the right words: someone in France searches for “agence SEO”, someone in Germany for “SEO Agentur”, someone in the UK for “SEO services”. A literal translation often misses those words.
That's why we carry out separate keyword research for each market. Each language version gets the title, the subheadings and the slug that people search for in that country. The content stays the same; the words don't.
How we build it
Which languages and countries matter to you? The keywords and the structure depend on that.
For each language and country, the words customers actually use, with their search volume.
Each language gets its own URLs and its own slug, linked with hreflang and included in the sitemap.
Every language version is written to the same fixed rules, with the keywords of its own market.
Tell us which countries your customers are in. Together we'll look at which languages and keywords are worth the effort.
